I got tired of always looking for a monthly calendar (knowing that I could make one for myself) so, this month I decided to go for it! Hope you will enjoy it too.

Ok, so ignore the fact that I haven't posted anything in well over a year (I promise to do better).
This weekend, we gave our "guest" bathroom a much needed mini-makeover. First of all, because it no longer serves as our guest bathroom - our 22month old son has taken over! We've slowly added more and more boyish details (see previous post with DIY dog canvas) but it didn't truly feel like his bathroom. Just for reference, here are a few BEFORE photos.
As you can see, nothing special. A shower curtain that we've had since before we got married, a blank canvas hanging on the wall that I've never decided what to paint on it, and other than the dog canvas and tail hooks, nothing that screams "little boy".
We didn't have the time or want to spend the money on a complete makeover, so we just added some fun accessories and a new shower curtain. I have to admit, my favorite addition is the 16X20 black and white print of Mason in the bathtub that I recently got for free from Shutterfly! A new shower curtain, some new rugs, a glass shelf, and freshly painted "Wash your Hands" and "Brush your Teeth" canvases and it feels like a new room!
What do you think?

Mason's First Pool Party
Yesterday, we traveled to Hendersonville for a pool party with some of Casey's co-workers. We were excited to get outside, have some fun, and let Mason splash around in his baby pool...but Mason had other plans. He decided that he's too big for his baby pool, and had to play in the big pool! He absolutely loved it. He's such a big boy!

All that swimming wore him out! He took a good nap on the way home :)

Naked Baby Photo Shoot
My sweet boy is growing up too fast. He is pretty much sitting up on his own now, and has fallen in love with his reflection. He will stare in the mirror and squeal; it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. I decided yesterday that I needed to take naked baby pics, so while Daddy was mowing the yard, me and Mason had a photo shoot :)
And then Brother Bo came to join us...he loves to lay on the bed and look out the window.
And then this happened...
Mom, where are my clothes?! |
I'm sure one day I'll use these pics to embarrass Mason in front of his first girlfriend.
Family Pics
A few months ago, we won a free photo shoot at our home from the fabulous Amy Boston. She got some amazing shots of our family and I am so thankful to have these photos to document our home and new baby boy. Here are a couple of my faves.

She captured so many fun moments that day, but my absolute favorite is from a field down the road from our house - it's full of tiny yellow flowers and I've never even noticed it! It was the perfect spot for a family photo. Since it's my favorite, I knew I had to have it BIG somewhere in my house. Well, that solution also came through Amy when she posted about a custom frame shop she works with, Cottonwood Frames. I found the perfect shape, the perfect size, the perfect color (a custom green paint color Amy helped me select) and emailed Amy my order. The frame arrived last week, I popped in the enlarged print I ordered from Shutterfly and instantly fell in love!

Big Boy Tub
Last night, we decided to try out the bath seat that my Aunt recently passed onto us and give Mason a bath in the big bathtub. Now that he weighs over 18 pounds, he fills out his mini tub from top to bottom, and splashes water all over the kitchen with every little move. I was afraid that he wouldn't know what to do, but he had a ball!
Hmmm...what can I get into??? |
I'll just chew on this rubber duck! |
